Oak Leaf is the old-fashioned original bathhouse of Toronto past. The Oak Leaf is Toronto’s most under-rated bathhouse. If you aren’t offended by the mixing of the classes (a lot of homeless people use it as a place to bathe and sleep), the Oak Leaf (which opened 1941) offers exceptionally good steam. While coming down from E, take a buddy to the top bleacher of the steam room and scrub each other down with traditional oak leaf brooms (available for $10 from the snack bar). Respect that it is not primarily a gay cruising ground and that people are trying to sleep. Mincing through the public bunk area all chatty-nelly with your friends should be saved for the other clubs. Massage service is available here. We have found that queer women in our end town, contrary to popular belief, want to part of a mixed group. The Queer West Village has more lesbians than any other district in Toronto. Here they don't hang out in just lesbians bars. They are Everywhere in the QWV, having fun, socializing in a safe environment. Gay West has new Board of Directors of seven gay men, two lesbians and one bisexual woman. OUTniagara The concept of an umbrella group to serve Niagara's sexual- and gender-diverse community began to take form in November 2004. Nearly 100 people attended a forum in December of that year, which lead to the creation of a steering committee tasked with the role of developing the process and function of such an organization.
