INTERNATIONAL GAY SCREENPLAY CONTEST - 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Hollywood, CA - Ascreenplay contest dedicated to the positive portrayal of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trangender and queer individuals in film, celebrates it's 10th anniversary in 2008. Entries are now being accepted online and are limited to the first 300 for 2008. Executive Director, David Jensen, "We are excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary and are looking at a record number of entries this year. We are continually amazed with the quality of talent that comes through the door year after year." Jensen continues, "We receive entries from around the globe and Hollywood is taking notice in a very big way. Many of our past winners are now hard working screenwriters"

CineCycle Bike Month Film Screening (Wed May 28): The Bicycle Thief CineCycle a Micro-Cinema and Bicycle Repair Shop, invites the public to a free screening of the Bicycle Thief, by Vittoria DeSica. Silver Screens Arts Festival Ryerson University May 01 2008 - May 16 2008. The Silver Screens Arts Festival is a two week celebration of “Aging Creatively and Creativity in Aging.” Hosted by Ryerson University G. Toronto Jewish Film Festival - The 16th-annual fest, running Sat, May 3 to 11, has two queer docs on offer among its 92 films from 13 countries. Jerusalem Is Proud to Present by Nitzan Gilady is a feature doc on the World Pride event in 2006 that saw event organizers from the city's LBGT Open House pitted against homophobic and religious protesters. 10:30pm. Mon, May 5. The Quest for the Missing Piece is Oded Lotan's humourous exploration of religious circumcision. Lotan, a young Jewish gay man living in Tel Aviv, pieces together the story of his own bris with his experiences in Germany (where his fully-equipped boyfriend is from) as he pulls together a statement of his unique identity.
