Communities are central to The Toronto Inside Story

A community is defined as a body of people with common characteristics. A community may be bound by shared values, attitudes, lifestyle preferences, a common residential area or profession. Increasingly people are looking for these similarities and choosing to align themselves with others who share a similar viewpoint. According to publisher, Michael Paré, people are turning back to their immediate surroundings. “They are insulating themselves from the bad news and from the ravages of social and economic change by turning their focus inward and concentrating very heavily on their backyard, their own family, street and neighbourhood."

The Inner city West has a core audience of 25 to 44 year old professionals who work hard, play hard and live it up. The city vibe and the fast-pace lifestyle it offers is the magnet that tries to drawn this community into the city hub. With more flexibility and time, the inner city westenders can now savour a multitude of west end food and leisure opportunities. Many do not travel too far from their base, so local retailers and services are of interest. They earn a considerable income which allows them to pay high rents as well as indulge in the caf? lifestyle that the inner city living offers. Their lifestyles are orientated around dining out, shopping, meeting friends at bars, going to the movies and other forms of cultural entertainment such as the theatre. The Inside Story is the only targeted publication that taps into this affluent and savvy group.

We have good positioning with the major search engines for most popular search terms in every area we cover with consistently high rankings in most search returns.

This is an important consideration in reaching out of town or foreign visitors as their unfamiliarity with local media is likely to lead them to go for the top hits in any category. Internet searching is also the top method for investigating vacation destinations.
